Meet Walmar, a true sea enthusiast who was raised along the picturesque coast of South Africa. His passion for boating began at a tender age of three when he embarked on his first week-long boat trip with his father. With an extensive background in the maritime world, both personally and professionally, Walmar's connection to the ocean runs deep. Growing up in the coastal fishing town of Velddrif, after being born in Namibia, he developed an intimate bond with the sea, considering it his second home. An ardent fisherman and a lover of free diving, he finds solace and joy in exploring the depths of the ocean.

Following his formal education, Walmar decided to transform his affinity for the ocean into a career. He pursued Maritime Studies and became a merchant seafarer, serving as a 2nd officer on chemical tankers worldwide. However, in 2017, driven by his desire for a new adventure, he made a life-changing decision to shift gears and delve into the world of yachting. Without a doubt, this career transition has been immensely fulfilling for him. Equipped with a 500t Captains license, he has embarked on numerous charters, navigating routes ranging from Cape Town harbor to transpacific journeys from Panama to Yokohama. Walmar has also skillfully traversed the Eastern trade routes, including the Suez Canal, Europe, and back to the United States.

Now, let's introduce Tamika, whose love for the ocean has been deeply influenced by her upbringing in Melkbosstrand, a charming surfing town on South Africa's west coast. Her father, a seasoned Master mariner, has undertaken numerous remarkable salvage operations throughout his career. Growing up under the guidance of a maritime expert, Tamika naturally gravitated towards the same industry. Inspired by her father's endeavors, she found her calling in yachting after completing her education. Her first step into this remarkable world took her to the Mediterranean, where she served as a chef and stewardess on a privately owned yacht for an American couple. Eager to enhance her skills, Tamika seized the opportunity to work for various prominent owners in the Middle East, catering to Silver Service Charters.

After her enriching experiences abroad, Tamika returned to her roots in South Africa to join forces with her now-fiancé, Walmar. Their shared passion for running charters motivated them to embark on a new journey together. Opting for the vibrant Caribbean as their new playground, they are excited to share their profound love for the ocean and the captivating chain of islands with you.
